Configuring CI Hosting Service Template

Service template is a set of resources that you are planning to sell to your customers using the online store. In Operations control panel, you specify the resources to be included in your service template. To set fees for using these resources and publish your service plan in the online store, you should switch to Billing control panel.

To create a service template, do the following:

  1. In Operations control panel, go to Products > Service Templates. The list of available service templates appears.
  2. Click Add New Service Template to create a new service template.
  3. Specify the service template parameters:
    • In the Name field, type a suitable name for the service template. Try to find a name that will help you easily find it in the future among other service templates.
    • In the Description field, type any template-related information. For example, you can specify the features specific to the service template or explain its purpose. This information is intended only for your convenience and will not be displayed to customers.
    • Select the Autoprovisioning checkbox.
    • Select the Account-Wide Services checkbox to create subscriptions with services in the account-wide mode. Leave the checkbox clear to create subscriptions with services in the subscription-local mode. To learn more about the account-wide and subscription-local modes of services, refer to the Making Subscription Services Account-Wide section in Operations Provider's Guide.
    • From the Type drop-down list, select Custom.

    Click Next to continue.

  4. In the list of available resource types, select the cloud resources you want to include in the service template, and click Next.

The following resource types must be included in any of the Cloud Infrastructure service templates:

    • CI Virtual Environments Limit
    • CI Free Linux VE, CI Commercial Linux VE, or CI Windows VE, depending on the type of operating system that will be offered in your containers and virtual machines.
    • CI Virtual Machine CPU Usage running and CI Virtual Machine CPU Usage stopped, if you are planning to sell virtual-machine-based servers.
    • CI Container CPU Usage running and CI Container CPU Usage stopped, if you are planning to sell container-based servers.
    • CI RAM usage running and CI RAM usage stopped
    • CI VE disk usage, if you are planning to use local disk storage.
    • CI network disk usage running and CI network disk usage stopped, if you are going to use Virtuozzo storage high availability cluster.
    • CI image space usage
    • CI backup space usage
    • CI bandwidth limit running and CI bandwidth limit stopped
    • CI internal incoming traffic and CI internal outgoing traffic
    • CI external incoming traffic and CI external outgoing traffic
    • CI Load Balancers
    • CI Cloud Hosting

The DNS Hosting, IP addresses, and IPv6 addresses resource types are not specific to Cloud Infrastructure but must be included in any service template you plan to use for offering cloud services.

You can also include optional resource types, like CI daily backup or CI weekly backup. To learn more about default resource types, refer to the Default Resource Types in Cloud Infrastructure.

    When ready, click Next.

  5. Set limits for the selected resource types, and click Next. It's recommended that you leave all resource types unlimited.
  6. Review the specified parameters and click Finish.

After a while, the newly created service template appears in the list on the Service Templates page.
