Migrating Servers Between Nodes
You may wish to migrate servers from one node to another if you plan to upgrade hardware on the node or to perform some maintenance tasks on it. To migrate a server, do the following:
- Go to Services > CloudInfrastructure > Virtualization Nodes.
- Click the name of the node hosting the server you want to migrate.
- Switch to the Virtual Servers tab.
- Do one of the following:
- Select the checkbox next to the server you want to migrate, and click Offload. In this case, the system will automatically decide to which node to migrate the server. All you need to do is confirm your decision by clicking Yes in the dialog window that opens. When making a decision on the destination node, the system pays attention, first of all, to the number of servers hosted on nodes. It checks all nodes registered in the Cloud Infrastructure and tries to choose a node that hosts the least number of servers.
- Click the Migrate icon in the Actions column next the server you want to migrate. In this case, you need to manually specify the destination node where you want to migrate the server. Once you are done, click Migrate.
Requirements to Migrating Servers
Before migrating servers from one node to another, make sure the destination node meets the requirements below.
- General requirements: ensure that the destination node
- Has a valid license installed.
- Has a stable network connection with the source node.
- Has enough disk space, memory, and CPU power to store and run the migrated servers.
- Virtuozzo requirements: ensure that the destination node
- Has a kernel version equal to or greater than the kernel version on the source server.
- Has the same set of CPU features (VT-x, VT-d, Hyperthreading, and so) as the source server.
