Registering OS Templates via the Built-In Discovery Feature

The Cloud Infrastructure built-in discovery feature facilitates the process of registering OS and application templates in Cloud Infrastructure Automation. To register a template using this feature:

  1. Go to Services > CloudInfrastructure > OS Templates in the Cloud Infrastructure group.
  2. Click Discover OS Templates.
  3. Select a node to discover OS templates on it.
  4. The Cloud Infrastructure searches the node for and displays all OS templates that are already installed on the node but not yet registered in Cloud Infrastructure Automation.
  5. Click the name of the OS template to install.
  6. On the Register New OS Template screen, review and, if necessary, configure the parameters to use for registering the template. All parameters are described in the OS Template registration Parameters in details. Click Next.

Please note that un-cached templates on virtualization nodes are cached during registration. So be sure that the node is connected to the Internet or a local repository for the required Linux distribution is set up in your network. You can also log in to the affected virtualization node and manually cache the template before registering it in Cloud Infrastructure Automation. For details on caching OS templates, refer to Virtuozzo Templates Management Guide.
