Creating Software License Types

In the application, a software license type represents either a software subscription license or a perpetual software license. For your application instance, for every software subscription license or perpetual software license that you are going to provide, you must create a separate software license type.

Important:

1. You must create only one software license type per software subscription license per application instance.

2. You must create only one software license type per perpetual software license per application instance.

To create a software license type for a license, perform the following actions:

1. In the Provider Control Panel, go to Services > Applications and select the APS Instances tab.
2. Select the required Microsoft 365 application instance.
3. Select the Software License Types tab.
4. Click New Software License Type.

5. Specify the following parameters:

   • Name: The name of this software license type. We recommend that you use the license name specified in your product catalog.
   • Description: The description of this software license type.
   • Product ID: The product identifier of this license, as specified in your product catalog.
   • Product Type: The type of this license (Perpetual software or Software subscription). Use the first option if this license is a perpetual software license, or use the second option if this license is a software subscription license.
   • SKU ID: The SKU ID of this license, as specified in your product catalog.
   • Target Segment: The target segment of this license (Commercial, Education, Government, or Nonprofit), as specified in your product catalog.
6. Click Add.

For example, create the following software license types:

• SQL Server Enterprise - 2 Core License Pack - 1 year

  • Name: SQL Server Enterprise - 2 Core License Pack - 1 year
  • Product ID: DG7GMGF0FKZV
  • Product Type: Software subscription
  • SKU ID: 0004
  • Target Segment: Commercial

• Visio Professional 2019

  • Name: Visio Professional 2019
  • Product ID: DG7GMGF0F4K0
  • Product Type: Perpetual software
  • SKU ID: 0002
  • Target Segment: Commercial
