Resource Configuration Through the Product Configuration Manager

Resource configuration through the Product Configuration Manager (PCM) is performed in two steps:

  1. The initial resource configuration. The base set of resources and service templates is created for a Microsoft 365 application instance during its creation.
  2. Configuration of resources, including service templates and service plans, for licenses of all kinds.

Notes:

1. To learn more about the PCM, please refer to the Billing Provider Guide.

2. Performing the initial resource configuration for an existing Microsoft 365 application instance directly through the PCM is not supported.

3. When you configure Microsoft 365 resources for an application instance through the PCM, the names of these resources automatically obtain a prefix that is calculated based on the application instance name: This is either the part that starts with the first character and ends before the first colon, or the application instance name where all non-alphanumeric characters are removed (strings Office365 or Microsoft are also removed). Examples: (1) If an application instance is named CSP Account A: Microsoft 365 Application Instance, the names of its resources will start with CSP Account A:. (2) If an application instance is named Instance for Microsoft CSP Account B, the names of its resources will start with InstanceforCSPAccountB:.
