Reusable Flexible Discounts
While regular flexible discount expires precisely at its end date, flexible reusable discounts allow customers to maintain an introductory or promotional price for renewals and additional purchases beyond the original discount window, stretching until a specific Discount Lock End Date.
This eliminates the operational overhead of manually updating subscriptions to reapply discounts, while protecting customers from sudden post-introductory price hikes.
Eligibility and Application Rules
| Scenario / Condition | System Behavior and Outcome |
|---|---|
| Timely Usage |
Customers who take advantage of a reusable discount during its initial offering period (start/end date) can retain that pricing benefit beyond the discount’s end date. |
| Subscription Auto-Renewal and Seat additions | Allows customers to reuse eligible discounts for renewals and seat additions until a configured discount lock end date. |
| Customer Opt-In | No action required. The discount applies automatically without explicit customer opt-in. |
| Manual Override | If a specific flexible discount is explicitly selected during a subscription update, it takes precedence and overrides the reusable discount. |
| Multiple Discounts Conflict | If a subscription has ties to multiple reusable discounts from different orders, the most recently applied discount wins at renewal. |
To programmatically determine if a flexible discount has this reusable capability, inspect the payload of the Get Flexible Discounts API.

Indicator: Look for the presence of the
discountLockEndDatefield. -
