Cisco API Security Migration

Cisco will be migrating to Okta, which offers better security strategies and a more secure platform. This migration will require the following changes:

  1. New Client Applications must be registered on the Mulesoft API Console for the production (PMI) and test environments (POE).

  2. Access must be requested for both CiscoXaaSAPI and CiscoPartyAPI. To obtain detailed instructions, refer to the Registering new API Client Applications section.

  3. Once the access to the APIs is approved, it will be necessary to schedule a simultaneous downtime for all Cisco products.

  4. During the scheduled downtime, the following actions need to be completed:

    • Cisco Cloud Generic and Cisco MSLA connectors need to be deployed and installed. (to be performed by CloudBlue).

    • The current API URLs and the token URL must be replaced in the corresponding configuration parameters with Product scope (to be performed by CloudBlue).

    • It will be necessary to configure the credentials obtained when requesting access to both CiscoXaaXAPI and CiscoPartyAPI. To do this, it is necessary to configure the client IDs and client secrets in the following parameters (to be performed by CloudBlue):

Connect Parameter Name Parameter ID Environment Value Description
Client ID PMI ClientId Production   API Client ID for the production environment.
Client Secret PMI ClientSecret Production   API Client secret for the production environment.
Client ID POE ClientId_test Test   Client ID for the test environment.
Client Secret POE ClientSecret_test Test   Client secret for the test environment.

Note: For more information on how to obtain the credentials, refer to the Registering new API Client Applications section.
