Dropbox Connect 2.6 Release Notes
Introduction
This document describes the new features, fixed issues and known limitations of Dropbox CONNECT 2.6. No information about enhancements is available for this release.
New Features
Dropbox CONNECT 2.6 introduces the following new feature(s):
-
Auto-renewal for trial subscriptions:
The auto-renew flag for trial subscriptions will be turned off so that they do not automatically renew into paid subscriptions. When converting from a trial to a paid subscription, the auto renew flag will be restored to its active status so that the paid subscription goes on to auto-renew seamlessly.
Previously, Dropbox trials naturally converted into paid subscriptions upon expiry. With the new functionality, a trial subscription by default should expire unless the customer explicitly requests its conversion to the paid plan.
This will allow Customers to review their decision to convert to a paid subscription and provide room for validating downsizing of licensing (if needed) as long as the desired number of licenses exceeds the number of used licenses.
-
Offline suspension/cancellation of subscriptions to support customer import:
Cancellation or suspension requests will be automatically approved without needing to communicate with Dropbox as long as the Subscription ID is specified in the Marketplace parameter "offline_mode_list".
Previously, there was no way to cancel a Dropbox team in offline mode to facilitate migration. This enhancement will make it possible to import Dropbox customers between Dropbox Resellers more seamlessly by enabling the Connector to validate eligible Dropbox customers, check their current co-term date, retrieve the list of Dropbox subscriptions under the listed IDs as well as each subscription's renewal quantity, and then finally add relevant and accurate data and parametrization to the Migration Order for approval.
Enhancements
Not applicable to this release.
Fixed Issues
-
Fixed the error where the API returned "no_access" response when trying to retrieve a team passing an incomplete list of Resellers. Now the list of Resellers is not required by Dropbox for this operation.
Known Limitations
-
When upgrading or downgrading to a different Dropbox plan, in CBC the number of licenses will be reset to the default value, unless the user who performs the upgrade or downgrade specifies the number of licenses that were ordered before such upgrade or downgrade.
-
CBC does not provide full capabilities to support the automatic conversion of Dropbox trial plans to a paid version, so the customer will need to place and upgrade the order to the paid Plan, which will be kept in pending status and will not be provisioned until the end date of the trials plan.
-
The dynamic validation for reseller credentials is not supported.
-
The log-in action button does not work for the Direct sales model.
