Creating a Test Reseller Account for the Staging Environment
In order to accelerate the on-boarding process with Google Workspace, it is necessary to go through a testing phase before going live to ensure that everything will be working as expected in a production environment. In this testing phase, you will need to create a test reseller account to be used in the staging setup for testing purposes.
Once the test reseller account is created, the test reseller account details must be shared with the CloudBlue Product Management team, so that they can establish a connection between the test reseller account and Ingram Micro's test distributor account.
Once the test account is set up, you will be able to place as many orders as necessary without incurring any charges. To make this possible, both the test reseller account and the domain name used in the orders must follow certain naming conventions. Once the testing phase is completed, you will be able to safely replicate the configuration in a production environment and go live.
To create a test reseller account, complete the following steps:
-
Create a test reseller domain. Both the test reseller domain and the customer domain must start with
goog-test
and they must include.com
. For example: -
goog-test.<something>.testresellerdomain.com
-
goog-test.testresellerdomain.com.<something>
-
goog-test.<something>.testresellerdomain.com.<something>
Note: The examples b and c are the best options when an automated domain verification is done via the Site Verification API and the DNS of the root domain of
testresellerdomain
cannot be managed. -
The account will never be billed and all the prices will be 0.
-
Data is totally separated from real production data.
-
Customers are marked for deletion 3 days after creation and then auto-purged weekly.
-
There is no limit on the number of customers created, but the number of seats is limited to 10 seats per customer.
-
Use the domain created in step 1 to create the cloud identity for the reseller. To do this, visit the following web site and follow the steps provided: https://gsuite.google.com/signup/gcpidentity/welcome#0
-
Verify the domain by adding the verification code provided by Google to the domain settings. To obtain information on how to verify the domain, refer to Google Workspace documentation.
-
Obtain the Google Cloud ID. To do this, complete the following steps:
-
Go to the Google Admin portal at https://admin.google.com/ac/accountsettings
-
Click Account Settings > Google Cloud ID.
-
Your Cloud Identity ID will appear next to the Customer ID field. Save this Id, as it will be required when you place your first order with the new test reseller account.
-
Bear in mind that when placing orders with a test reseller domain:
