Creating a Report for NCE Commercial Promotions
You can generate reports that list subscriptions where Microsoft has applied a promotional discount using the NCE Commercial Promotions report template. Reports can be filtered by date, marketplace, or environment. Each subscription entry includes the promotional discount percentage applied by Microsoft.
Automatic Application of Discounts
-
In CloudBlue Commerce 21.4, Microsoft NCE promotional discounts are applied automatically, provided the product was deployed using PLM.
-
In CloudBlue Commerce 20.5, discounts are not applied automatically. However, you can generate a report (as described below) to identify previously applied discounts and manually apply them to the relevant subscriptions.
Adding the NCE Custom Report Template to CloudBlue Connect
Before creating the report, you must add the repository containing the NCE report template to CloudBlue Connect:
-
In the Connect Distributor portal, go to Settings > Reports.
-
Open the Repositories tab, click Add Repository and enter the following GitHub repository URL containing the report template:
https://github.com/cloudblue/microsoft_reports -
Select the tag corresponding to the latest version.
Creating a Report for NCE Commercial Promotions
Once you have added the NCE custom report template to CloudBlue Connect, follow these steps to create the report:
-
In the Connect Distributor portal, go to Reports > Directory and click Create Report.
-
Select the NCE Commercial Promotions template. Review the description and click Next.
-
Configure the report:
-
Date range
-
Transaction type: prod, test, or all
-
Marketplaces: select one or more
-
Output format: XLSX, JSON, or CSV (Note: the format cannot be changed after creation)
-
-
Enter the report name and an optional description. Then, click Create.
The report will appear in the directory with the status Deploying. Once the status changes to Ready, click the report name to download the file.
Report Details
The report includes detailed information on subscriptions with NCE promotions, including a column titled Promotion Applied (PercentDiscount) showing the discount percentage applied by Microsoft.
Note: CloudBlue Connect also allows you to create scheduled reports. For additional information, refer to the CloudBlue Connect documentation.
Please, take into account the following:
-
The report lists subscriptions from approved purchase and change requests that have an NCE promotion applied within the specified date range.
-
For change requests, the Item Seats column reflects seat quantity changes:
-
A value like +2 indicates 2 seats were added and received the promotion.
-
A negative value indicates a seat reduction.
-
-
Switch plan scenarios are not included, as NCE promotions do not apply to new plans.
-
Renewal events are not detailed, but the End Date column shows when the promotion ends. If a subscription is renewed before this date, the promotion continues for the full term; otherwise, standard billing applies.
