Release Notes

You can migrate Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions from the following applications and extensions to CloudBlue Connect NCE:

  • The Microsoft 365 application (.NET endpoints)

  • The O365_APS2 application (PHP endpoints)

  • CSP Connect Extension

    Important:

    - Only New Subscription Mode is supported for CSP Connect Extension.

    - When migrating Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions of CSP Connect Extension, the script does not check whether the Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) was accepted by subscription owners.

Migration is performed with a migration script that is shipped separately from CloudBlue Commerce and those applications and extensions.

Features added in this version of the migration script:

  • You can now migrate Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions of CSP Connect Extension.

    Important:

    - In the current version of the migration script, only New Subscription Mode is supported for CSP Connect Extension.

    - When migrating Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions of CSP Connect Extension, the script does not check whether the Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) was accepted by subscription owners.

  • When using the Switch Plan Mode of the script, you can now migrate Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions that include add-on licenses.

Important: This functionality requires CloudBlue Commerce 21.7 or later. For more details, see Requirements.

  • Before migrating Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions, you need to transfer DNS hosting services used by domains from those Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions to other subscriptions. You can now use the migration script to do that. To learn more, please see Transferring DNS Hosting Services from Microsoft 365 CSP Subscriptions.

Important: You can use the migration script to automatically transfer DNS hosting services used by domains only for the Microsoft 365 application (.NET endpoints, --sourcemodel odin).

  • With the --om-workload parameter of the migration script, you can now limit the number of requests to the Order Management component's API that the script can perform simultaneously.

  • To improve the performance of migration, order processing is now split into two phases:

    • Phase 1: The migration script creates all necessary orders for Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions. It waits 180 seconds (the default timeout interval for order placement) for each created order to either obtain the Long Running Operation status or fail. After each order obtains that status or fails within that interval, the second phase begins.

Note: You can customize the default timeout interval for order placement with the --timeout-order-placement parameter of the script.

    • Phase 2: The migration script takes into account only those orders that obtained the Long Running Operation status during the first phase and waits 600 seconds (the default timeout interval for order completion) for each order to either successfully complete or fail.

Note: You can customize the default timeout interval for order completion with the --timeout-order-process parameter of the script.

  • With the --allow-fake-annual parameter of the migration script, you can now migrate Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions that have one-year billing and subscription periods on the CloudBlue Commerce side and include Microsoft 365 CSP licenses that have one-month billing periods on the Microsoft side.

After the migration, new Microsoft 365 NCE subscriptions will have one-year billing and subscription periods on the CloudBlue Commerce side and include Microsoft 365 NCE licenses that have one-year billing periods on the Microsoft side.

Important: This ability is supported only for the migration of subscriptions of the O365_APS2 application in New Subscription migration mode.

  • With the --monthly-term parameter of the migration script, you can now perform the migration so that the migrated subscriptions will have one-month billing and subscription periods regardless of their initial billing and subscription periods.

Important: This ability is supported only for New Subscription migration mode.

This version includes the following fixes:

  • APSA-24147 Add the ability to detect Microsoft 365 CSP subscriptions under resellers or customers whose accounts are put on credit or administrative hold.

  • APSA-24174 The connect_migration.py script failed with "Error when loading DNS zones: ''ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xf6' in position 3: ordinal not in range(128)'".

Important: You must not perform the migration on your own. The current version of the migration script is intended for migration only with the assistance of CloudBlue Professional and Managed Services Team. Please contact your CSM or TAM to begin a Professional Services discovery process and obtain a Statement of Work with customized pricing.
