Microsoft Cloud User Management

The Microsoft Cloud Users tab only appears for resellers and providers selling directly to customers and it shows users under that customer tenant.

You can filter users by display name and status. Filtering by status you will be able to see enabled or disabled accounts.

Viewing and Managing Microsoft Cloud Users of a Customer Tenant

To view Microsoft Cloud Users of a customer tenant, complete these steps as a reseller or a provider selling directly to customers:

  1. Log in to your panel in CloudBlue Commerce.

  2. In the left menu, click Microsoft Online Management.

  3. Click on a customer tenant in the list.

  4. Click the Microsoft Cloud Users tab.

The list of Microsoft Cloud Users will be displayed with an ellipsis icon menu on the right per user:

  • Manage: This option allows you to see the user's details as well as to edit the user's first name, the location, last name and display name. To do this, click the Edit option, next to the user's details.

  • Assign Licenses: You can assign licenses to users by completing the following steps:

    1. In the Microsoft Cloud Users tab, click on the name of the user that you wish to assign licenses to. Alternatively, you can click Manage in the ellipsis icon menu.

    2. Ensure that a location has been selected for the user. If this is not the case, click Edit in the user's details and choose a valid location.

Note: If the user does not have a location, the license assignment will fail.

    3. Click Assign New and select the licenses that you wish to assign to the user. To do this, you can select both products and service plans. The items displayed at the top level are the products and the ones under the top level are service plans.

    4. Once you have selected the products and service plans, click Assign Licenses.

  • Manage roles: It allows you to assign admin roles to users in your organization. Each admin role maps to common business functions and gives users permissions to do certain tasks in the admin centers. To assign specific roles to users, click Admin center access and then select the roles that you would like to assign. If you select User (no admin center access) all the roles that are currently assigned to the user will be removed. Click Save.

  • Reset password: It allows you to reset the password for the user. After confirming the password reset, copy the new randomly generated password to send to the user.

  • Disable user / Enable user: It allows you to disable an active user or to enable a user that was disabled previously.

  • Remove user: It removes the user permanently.

Creating Microsoft Users in a Customer Tenant

Microsoft Online Management Extension allows you to create Microsoft users in a customer tenant either individually or in bulk. When creating users you will be able to assign available licenses to them.

Creating Users Individually

To create a single Microsoft Cloud user in a customer tenant, complete these steps as a reseller or a provider selling directly to customers:

  1. Log in to your panel in CloudBlue Commerce.

  2. In the left menu, click Microsoft Online Management.

  3. Click on a customer tenant in the list.

  4. Click the Microsoft Cloud Users tab.

  5. Click Add user > Add single user.

  6. Enter the user details and specify the password preferences for the user. You can either create a password manually for the user or have it automatically created for you.

  7. Ensure that the right location is selected in the dropdown list.

  8. Assign licenses to the new user. Optionally, you can choose to create the user without licenses, although this is not recommended by Microsoft. Click Next.

  9. Assign admin roles to the new user. Each admin role maps to common business functions and gives users permissions to do certain tasks in the admin centers. To assign specific roles to users, click Admin center access and then select the roles that you would like to assign. If you select User (no admin center access) no roles will be assigned to the user. Click Next.

  10. Review the user and the password that will be generated and click Finish.

Creating Users in Bulk

To create multiple Microsoft Cloud users in a customer tenant, complete these steps as a reseller or a provider selling directly to customers:

  1. Log in to your panel in CloudBlue Commerce.

  2. In the left menu, click Microsoft Online Management.

  3. Click on a customer tenant in the list.

  4. Click the Microsoft Cloud Users tab.

  5. Click Add user > Add list of users.

  6. Download a CSV template and prepare the file with the required user data. Once the file is ready, click Upload file to upload the CSV file.

Note: The CSV file must not contain more than 249 rows at the most. The mandatory columns are highlighted in orange in the Excel file.

  7. Assign licenses to the new users. Optionally, you can choose to create the users without licenses, although this is not recommended. Click Next.

    Notes:
    - The selected licenses will be applied to all the users that will be created. If the number of users to be created is higher than the number of licenses available for a product, such product will not be available in the list.
    - Roles cannot be assigned to users when they are created in bulk. To assign roles, you will need to edit the users and assign the roles individually.

  8. Review the summary with the users that will be created and the passwords assigned.

  9. Click Finish to start the process.
