Additional Odin Automation Management Node
Important:
- The deployment of an additional management node causes Odin Automation downtime, so you need to schedule a maintenance window for this purpose.
- The effect from adding one more management node will be visible only on the installations with the APS Booster enabled.
- You must add a BackNet IP address of an additional management node to all access settings of APS application endpoints that use connection restrictions (for example, the Office 365 application).
- You must add a firewall rule for an additional management node if the firewall is configured for an APS application (for example, the Office 365 application).
- Routing from an additional management node VM to a Kubernetes cluster must be configured if the system contains APS application endpoints running in Kubernetes (for example: UX1 Marketplace, IDP, GDPR).
- Time must be synchronized between UI nodes and management nodes.
- An SMTP relay server must be configured to accept messages from an additional management node.
On the Odin Automation installations, where a number of provider's staff members and reseller's accounts is big, the management node becomes the bottleneck of the Odin Automation system. You can improve a resilience of your Odin Automation installation by adding an additional management node to your system. This will allow you to balance the load between the two management nodes, so the most essential operations, such as navigating on the most critical screens: list of subscriptions, customers and service templates, switching to the Billing panel, and rescheduling tasks in Task Manager will remain available in case the original management node is not accessible for any reason. Below is the table that shows how additional management node will affect certain operations:
