Configuring the Azure Application Instance

After the application instance is installed as described in Creating an Azure Application Instance using your own 1st tier partner credentials, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the name of the application instance (Services > Applications > APS Instances > My Instances).
  2. Go to the Partner tab and then click Activate.
  3. Specify the following:
    • Default Reseller Markup – the markup that is applied to Microsoft Azure prices for all 2nd tier resellers by default. This markup is your profit gained from 2nd tier resellers. You can set numbers with up to five decimal places.

Note: After you have 2nd tier resellers subscribed to your plans, you can set an individual markup for any of them. See Setting an Individual Markup for 2nd Tier Resellers.

    • Recommended Retail Markup – the recommended markup applied to reseller's Azure prices for customers, although a 2nd tier reseller is free to set a different value. This markup is a 2nd tier reseller's profit gained from customers. You can set numbers with up to five decimal places.
    • Currency – the currency that is used for settlements with the 2nd tier resellers.
    • Exchange Rate - the rate at which the selected currency should be exchanged to the currency paid to Microsoft according to the CSP agreement. This option is not available if you are reselling the services to resellers and customers in the same currency as in the agreement with Microsoft.
    • Show Calculator – if checked, the Open Calculator button will be displayed at the Price List tab in Customer Panel. By clicking it, customers will be redirected to the Azure pricing calculator webpage. (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/calculator/).
    • New Resellers Can Change Prices - clear this checkbox if you want resellers to resell your services at the prices that you define. In such a case, resellers will not be able to change the currency in which they sell to their customers, the currency exchange rate, and the profit margin. Every new reseller will get the reseller markup (it controls how much the reseller will pay to the provider and is not visible to the reseller), the retail markup (it controls how much a customer will pay to the reseller), the currency, the exchange rate, and the Show Calculator setting as you defined. You cannot set an individual markup for such resellers and the resellers will not be able to change any of these settings for their accounts. They will only be able to resell the plans that you created and delegated to them. Learn more about it in Creating Delegated Service Templates and Plans for Resellers.
  4. Click Save.
