Preparing Configuration Profiles

A configuration profile is a set of predefined settings and quotas for organizations. Configuration profiles are used to automatically configure organizations during subscription provisioning.

You can create as many organization profiles as you need. For instance, if you need organizations with different quotas on mailbox size, you can create respective configuration profiles.

To create a configuration profile, follow these steps:

  1. In your control panel, go to Services > Applications and select the APS Connectors tab.
  2. Click on ExchangeApplication.
  3. Click on the application instance that you need.
  4. Select the Exchange tab. Then, select the Configuration Profiles subtab.
  5. Click Add Configuration Profile.
  6. Specify the following:

    • General settings

      • Configuration profile name: this defines the name of the configuration profile.
      • Allow mailbox management in MyCP: this defines whether end users can manage their mailboxes through MyCP (Yes or No).
      • Allow mailbox permissions management in MyCP: this defines whether end users can manage mailbox permissions through MyCP (Yes or No).
      • The default size of a mailbox: this defines the default size of a mailbox (in kilobytes). End users can either use the default value or specify custom values when creating mailboxes.
      • Maximum mailbox size allowed: this defines the maximum size of a mailbox (in kilobytes).

Note: This setting also defines the maximum size of a resource mailbox.

      • Allow retention management of deleted items: this defines whether end users can change retention settings for deleted mailbox items (Yes or No).
