Managing Service Nodes

After you have installed CloudBlue Commerce and adjust your own account, you may want to expand your system with new hardware resources – to add a new physical server called a service node in CloudBlue Commerce.

As CloudBlue Commerce is a distributed system, you can use the service node for resource provisioning as well as for your internal needs, for example, backup storage.

In the CloudBlue Commerce control panel, hardware nodes are listed in Infrastructure > Service Nodes.

In fact, this list contains not only service nodes, but also VPS nodes. To distinguish between two types of servers, see the intersection of a node row and the Platform column.

  • If an operating system is indicated here (for example, x86_64 RHEL 6 or x86_64 Win32 6.1), the node is a service node.
  • If you see here a Virtuozzo version (for example, VZ Linux 4.0.0 or VZ Windows 4.0.0), it is a VPS service node.

Note: You can find the information about VPS nodes in the VPS Hosting (non-OACI-based) Guide, VPS Hosting (non-OACI-based) Configuration > Managing VPS Hardware Nodes section.
