Restoring a Terminated Subscription

A subscription is terminated automatically after its hold period is over. Service status for a terminated subscription is subject to service terms settings:

  • If Destroy Service after Hold Period option is set to Yes in service terms, then the service is destroyed on a subscription termination and a subscription cannot be restored.
  • If Destroy Service after Hold Period option is set to No in service terms, then the service is stopped on a subscription termination and a subscription can be restored and activated.

Note: Regardless of the Destroy Service after Hold Period settings, a subscription cannot be restored in case of its cancellation if the Destroy Service on Cancel option of the corresponding service template is set to Yes.

To restore a terminated subscription:

  1. Open Operations > Customers.
  2. Select a customer by clicking on the respective link in the Account ID or in the Account Name column. Properties of the selected customer's account appear on the screen.
  3. Switch to the Subscriptions tab. The list of the customer's subscriptions appears on the screen.
  4. Select a subscription you want to restore. To do this, click the respective link in the ID or in the Plan column.
  5. On the General tab of the subscription, click Restore Terminated Subscription.

After a subscription is restored, its status becomes Graced, the service is started. In this case, a subscription renewal order can be paid. The expiration date of the subscription will be updated correspondingly.

Also, for some reason you can cancel a subscription manually before its expiration date. If the Destroy Service on Cancel option of the corresponding service plan is not selected, you still can restore this subscription before its expiration date is passed.

To restore a manually terminated subscription:

  5. On the General tab of the subscription, click Restore Subscription.

After a renewal order will be processed, the subscription's status becomes Active, the service is started. The expiration date of the subscription will be updated correspondingly.

Note: For manually canceled subscriptions, which expiration date is passed or which hold period exceeds the subscription period, the Restore Terminated Subscription button becomes available instead of the Restore Subscription one.
