Grouping Products for Easier Discount Creation

To create similar discounts more easily, you can group the necessary service plans, resources, and service plan periods into a Product Group. Then, when creating a discount, you can quickly associate the discount with a Product Group instead of associating it separately with each necessary service plan, resource, or service plan period.

Creating a Product Group

To include the necessary service plans, resources, and service plan periods into a Product Group:

  1. Go to Provider Control Panel > Billing > Products > Marketing > the Product Groups tab.
  2. Choose one of these options to create a product group:
    • To create a product group by cloning an existing product group:
      1. Click Clone Existing Product Group. Select one of the available product groups. Click Next.
      2. Complete the Name field. Click Finish to save the new product group.
    • To create a totally new product group:
      1. Click Add New Product Group. Complete the fields:
        • Name: Enter the name of the new product group.
        • Description: Explain which customers the product group is for and which products it includes.
      2. Save the product group.
  3. Click the newly created product group. In the respective tabs:

Product Group Tabs

  • Discounted Subscription Periods: This tab lists the individual subscription periods (of selected service plans) included in the product group. The listed subscription periods are subject to the discounts listed in the Discounts tab.

    Note: The service plans to which the subscription periods belong are not automatically added to the product group but can be added in the Discounted Plans tab, if it is necessary to offer discounts for all their subscription periods and resources.

  • Discounted Plans: This tab lists the service plans included in the product group. The listed service plans are subject to the discounts listed in the Discounts tab.

    Note: For each of the listed service plans, all its subscription periods and resources are automatically included in the product group and are subject to the discounts.

  • Discounted Resources: This tab lists the resources included in the product group. The listed resources are subject to the discounts listed in the Discounts tab.
  • Discounts: This tab lists all discounts which apply to the service plans, subscription periods, and resources included in the product group.

Including Service Plans, Subscription Periods, and Resources in a Product Group

To include a subscription period in (or remove it from) a product group:

  1. Go to Products > Marketing > Discounted Products tab. Click the product group to which you want to add or from which you want to remove a discounted subscription period.
  2. Switch to the Discounted Subscription Periods tab. Add or remove a discounted subscription period:
    • To add a subscription period to the product group:
      1. Click Add New Discounted Subscription Period.
      2. Complete Service Plan and Subscription Period by selecting the necessary options.
      3. Save the changes.
    • To remove a subscription period from the product group:
      1. Select the subscription period which you want to remove from the product group (you can select several periods).
      2. Click Remove.

To include a service plan in (or remove it from) a product group:

  1. Go to Products > Marketing > Discounted Products tab. Click the product group to which you want to add or from which you want to remove a service plan.
  2. Switch to the Discounted Plans tab. Add or remove a service plan:
    • To add a service plan to the product group:
      1. Click Add New Discounted Plan.
      2. Select the service plan which you want to add to the product group (you can select several service plans). Click Add Selected Plans above the list.
    • To remove a service plan from the product group:
      1. Select the service plan which you want to remove from the product group (you can select several plans).
      2. Click Remove.

To include a resource in (or remove it from) a product group:

  1. Go to Products > Marketing > Discounted Products tab. Click the product group to which you want to add or from which you want to remove a resource.
  2. Switch to the Discounted Resources tab. Add or remove a resource:
    • To add a resource to the product group:
      1. Click Add New Discounted Resources.
      2. Select the resource which you want to add to the product group (you can select several resources). Click Add Selected Resources above the list.
    • To remove a resource from the product group:
      1. Select the resource which you want to remove from the product group (you can select several resources).
      2. Click Remove.

Creating Discounts for a Product Group

You can create multiple discounts for a product group.

To create a discount for a product group:

  1. Go to Products > Marketing > Discounted Products tab. Click the product group for which you want to create a discount.
  2. Click Add New Discount. Follow the instructions from Adding a Discount.
