Step 4. Configure Resource Rates

Note: This is a service plan creation step. However, the procedure is the same for changing resource rates of already existing service plans. The path to the configuration screen is: Provider Control Panel > Billing > Products > Service Plans > the necessary service plan > the Resource Rates tab.

To configure the service plan resource rates:

  1. Click the resource for which you are setting the rates.
  2. Change the included units value, maximum and minimum allowed amounts. To do so, input new values into the Inc. Units, Max Units and Min Units fields respectively. To set the Inc. Units or Max Units to unlimited, enter "-1".

    Important:
    1. The Inc. Units must be either "-1" (which means "unlimited"), or zero, or no less than the Min Units.
    2. If the Min Units is greater than zero for a resource and a customer chooses this service plan, the minimum number of units of this resource will automatically be added to the order and will be displayed in the Order Details section on the checkout screen. In such a case, a warning message is displayed to the user in the PCP and RCP.
    3. In service plans with QT rating model, Min Units for resource rates must be set to 0.

  3. Accordingly, set the setup, recurring and overuse fees. To do this, input appropriate parameters in the Setup fee, Recurring fee and Overuse fee fields respectively.
  4. Define how the setup fee is to be charged. Select the Charge per unit check box in order for resulting setup fee to be calculated as follows:

    (resulting setup fee) = (included units) * (setup fee)

    Leave the Charge per unit checkbox cleared in order for resulting setup fee to be equal to setup fee set. Overused resources are always charged per unit.

  5. Select the Measurable checkbox to make resource overuse allowed. If the check box is cleared, resource overuse is not allowed and setting overuse fee does not take effect. For physical resources, it is recommended selecting the check box.
  6. Select the Show in Store checkbox to make resource visible in the End-Customer and Reseller Marketplaces. Such resources can be purchased as additional.
  7. Select the Show in CP checkbox to make the resource visible in the CCP. Such resources can be purchased as additional from the CCP.

    Note: For a resource to be available for customer choice in UX1 for Customers, the resource must be added to an appropriate resource category. For more information, please see Creating or Editing Resources.

  8. Select the Available for Sale checkbox to make the resource available for sale.

To configure up-sale options (that is, other service plans which will be offered to the customer who subscribes to the service plan that you are configuring at the moment), click Setup Up-Sales, select the necessary service plans, and save the changes.
