Transferring Subscriptions Between Customer Accounts

You may need to transfer a subscription from one customer to another in the following cases:

  1. A customer’s department spins out from the mother company to become a separate firm.

The customer asks the vendor to move some of the subscriptions to a new account. Alternative case is when two customers merged their businesses and ask vendor to move all subscriptions to a single account.

  2. A provider’s/reseller’s sales representative has created a subscription under a wrong customer account by mistake and needs to move the subscription to the right account.

Another scenario is when a customer has mistakenly created a separate account when trying to buy additional subscription in End-Customer Marketplace. The customer asks vendor to merge two accounts.

  3. A "real" end-customer wants to move out of its Pseudo-reseller / Web Developer.

The to-be customer creates a separate customer account with vendor and asks to move all its subscriptions to this account.

  4. Internal Domain Transfer.

Two customers agreed to transfer domain ownership from one customer to another. They ask the vendor to move the DNS hosting subscription and the domain to a new account then change ownership directly at the registrar and sync domain contacts in Billing.

  5. A customer changes its legal name.

The customer asks the vendor to change the registration name displayed in invoices. The vendor creates a new customer account and moves all subscriptions to that account.
