Adding a Domain Registered Elsewhere

To create a new domain in CloudBlue Commerce, perform the following operations:

  1. Go to Services > Domains.
  2. Click Add Existing Domain Registered Elsewhere.

On the opened page, enter the information on the domain name and its DNS hosting type.

    • Into the Domain field, type the name your domain will be referred to. Enter a valid domain name (for example, mycompany.com) that is unique to the system. If you enter a domain name that already exists, CloudBlue Commerce will ask you to change it.
    • Select the Internal name server option in the Hosting type field, if your domain will be managed by CloudBlue Commerce DNS servers.

Note: For domains with internal DNS hosting, DNSSEC functionality can be provided.

    • Select the External option to allow external DNS servers to serve your domain. In that case, you will manage DNS records by yourself. After you provide the necessary information, click Next.
  3. Select a domain resource by clicking a resource name.
  4. On the displayed page, is the main data on your domain:

    • Opposite the Domain field, the name you typed for your domain on the previous page is displayed.
    • Hosting type: see the information on DNS hosting types above in this chapter.
    • In the DNS servers field, you can see the names of DNS servers that can be used for your domain registration. DNS servers are the address books that your computers rely on to navigate around the Internet. They also allow your ISP's mail server to find the mail server of a user hosted elsewhere.
    • In the Resource field, the resource for the internal DNS hosting is displayed. If your customer is subscribed to several hosting resources, they can select one of these resources. The DNS hosting resource defines the scope of DNS services that will be used for the domain.
    • The Subscription defines the subscription for the DNS hosting resource mentioned above.
  5. Click Finish. The operation result message appears.
  6. Go back to the domain list. If the operation result is successful, you can see the newly created domain in the list of your domains. It has the Undefined status.

Note:
You can set a default registrar status value for a domain by specifying the corresponding system property. See the Configuring System Properties section.
The Registrar Status of the domain does not influence the value of the In Sync domain property. You can find these properties at Services > Domains > [any domain] > Summary tab.

You can set the registrar status of the domain to Ready.
