Configuring Branding for a Reseller

To provide a reseller with branding, you need to do the following:

  1. Update configuration of the default branding service template or create a new one. For more information, refer to the Creating Service Template section.
  2. Include the following resources required for branding in the service template:
    • Branding access points.
    • DNS Hosting.
    • IP addresses. (IPv4 or IPv6) an optional resource. If a provider does not include this resource then resellers' brands will be set on shared IPs. As for brand configurations, resellers will have the following choices: subdirectory (for example, reseller.com/cp) and subdomains (for example, cp.reseller.com). Note that in this case (shared IPs configuration) if such an IP is compromised (for example, in terms of spam) and banned, all such resellers will be affected.
  3. If you included the IP addresses resource, change its limits:
    • Setting the limit to "1": resellers' brands will be set on exclusive IPs, and only subdirectory configuration will be available for a reseller's brand (for example, reseller.com/cp).
    • Setting the limit to "2": resellers' brands will be set on exclusive IPs. Resellers will have the following choices for their brand configuration: subdirectory (for example, reseller.com/cp) and subdomains (for example, cp.reseller.com).
  4. Subscribe a reseller to this service template. To learn more how to subscribe a reseller to branding, refer to the Billing Getting Started with Resellers guide.

Important:
1. If you have several servers registered in CloudBlue Commerce, assign the provisioning attributes to the Branding access points resource type and the required host.
2. The reseller branding template does not require a web hosting resource to create the reseller's brand. This resource can still be required for creating a proxy store for a reseller.
