Importing Servers
Virtual servers running on your virtualization nodes that are not yet registered in the Cloud Infrastructure, can be easily imported and included in the existing subscriptions.
Note:
1. Importing server functionality is available only in the Cloud Infrastructure resource model subscriptions.
2. Virtual server configuration parameters such as RAM, Diskspace should be the powers of a number 2, for example, 512, 1024, etc.
To import a server, do the following:
- Go to Services > CloudInfrastructure > Virtualization Nodes.
- Click the node containing the server you want to add.
- Switch to the Virtual Servers tab and click Import Servers. A list of unregistered servers available on the node is displayed.
- Select the server that you want to register and click Next.
- Select the subscription where you want to include this server once it's imported and click Next.
- Select the OS template on which the server should be based and click Next.
- Specify the server name and click Finish.
As a result, the server is registered with the Instance Manager and assigned an IP address, which makes it included in the Cloud Infrastructure.
Once the server is imported, check its CPU and RAM configuration. You may change them, if you need. For more information on editing the server's configuration, refer to the Configuring Server Hardware section.
You can also set up elastic CPU and RAM scaling for this server. For details, refer to the Elastic Resource Scaling section.
