Creating 'Microsoft 365 Software Subscription License' and 'Microsoft 365 Perpetual Software License' Resource Types

In the application, Microsoft 365 Software Subscription License and Microsoft 365 Perpetual Software License resource types represent software subscription licenses and perpetual software licenses. These resource types are created based on software license types (see Creating Software License Types for details). For your Microsoft 365 application instance, for every software subscription license or perpetual software license that you are going to provide, you must create a Microsoft 365 Software Subscription License or Microsoft 365 Perpetual Software License resource type.

Important:

1. You must create only one Microsoft 365 Software Subscription License resource type for a software license type of a software subscription license for an application instance.

2. You must create only one Microsoft 365 Perpetual Software License resource type for a software license type of a perpetual software license for an application instance.

To create a Microsoft 365 Software Subscription License or Microsoft 365 Perpetual Software License resource type, perform the following actions:

1. In the Provider Control Panel, go to Services > Applications and select the APS Connectors tab.
2. In the list of applications, select the Microsoft 365 application.
3. Select the Resource Types tab.
4. Click Create.
5. In the list of resource classes, select the Application Service Reference resource class.

6. Specify the following parameters:

   • Name: The name of this resource type.
   • Description: (Optional) The description of this resource type.

   Click Next.

7. In the list of APS types, select the Software License APS type.
8. In the list of instances, select the required software license type instance.
9. Check these resource type parameters carefully and click Finish.

For example, create the following Microsoft 365 Software Subscription License and Microsoft 365 Perpetual Software License resource types:

• SQL Server Enterprise - 2 Core License Pack - 1 year

  • Software license type instance: SQL Server Enterprise - 2 Core License Pack - 1 year

• Visio Professional 2019

  • Software license type instance: Visio Professional 2019
