Transferring an Active NCE Azure Subscription to Another Microsoft Partner

Microsoft allows customers to request a transfer of active NCE Azure subscriptions from their current partner (the one that they have a Billing relationship with) to another partner of their choice, while maintaining service continuity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Microsoft Partner who has the billing relationship with the customer must agree to the transfer requested by the customer by initiating a transfer request.

  • The prospective Microsoft Partner must agree to the transfer by using a Partner Invitation Link to validate the request and establish a new billing relationship with the customer.

  • Both Microsoft Partners must be in the same Microsoft authorized region.

  • Both Microsoft Partners must agree to the transfer. If the transfer request is revoked, canceled or ignored for thirty days by any of the partners, Microsoft will destroy the cancel request.

Steps to Follow as the Microsoft Partner Acquiring the Transferred Subscription

  1. Make sure that you have a billing relationship with the Microsoft customer. If this is not the case, request a billing relationship with the customer by sharing your Partner Invitation Link.

Note: You may use the CloudBlue control panel to create a new customer profile, validate the billing relationship and issue a Partner Invitation Link if required.

  2. Accept the transfer request in the Microsoft Partner Center.

  3. Wait for Microsoft to settle the transfer request. This should occur at approximately 00:01 UTC. You may wish to wait for 24 hours.

  4. Use CloudBlue's Seamless Move to import the NCE Azure subscription to the CloudBlue platform. This will ensure that the usage of the subscription will begin to be collected by CloudBlue and rated into your invoicing.

Note: The collection of closed billing period usage is aligned to the calendar month and takes place automatically when Microsoft completes its readiness; customarily on working day 8 or calendar day 10 of each calendar month.

Steps to Follow as the Microsoft Partner Releasing the Transferred Subscription

  1. Agree to the transfer request in the Microsoft Partner Center.

  2. Wait for Microsoft to settle the transfer request. This should occur at approximately 00:01 UTC. You may wish to wait for 24 hours.

  3. Allow CloudBlue's usage collection and rating to execute for at least the next calendar month. This will ensure that any partial final month's usage will be reflected in your final invoice of the NCE Azure subscription.

You may optionally allow usage collection and rating to continue for one additional month, so that you validate there is zero (0) usage.

  4. Perform an offline cancellation of the NCE Azure subscription. This will remove the NCE Azure subscription from the CloudBlue platform and prevent additional usage collection.

Note: Performing an offline cancellation will not have an impact on Microsoft, as you should no longer be the owner of the NCE Azure subscription and have no privileges to cancel it.
