Dropbox Connect 3.0 Release Notes

Introduction

This document describes the new features and known limitations of Dropbox CONNECT 3.0. No information about enhancements, fixed issues is available for this release.

New Features

Dropbox CONNECT 3.0 introduces the following new features:

  • The Connect processor was migrated to the Extension as a Service architecture, thereby providing an improvement in the provisioning performance.
  • The purchase flow has been modified to allow users to specify if they wish to purchase a new Dropbox team or import a Dropbox team.
  • The dynamic validation for the reseller credentials is now supported.
  • The processor now supports scheduling changes for downsizes or plan downgrades. Such changes will be scheduled to take place on the renewal date, providing such changes are requested within seven days before the renewal date. Once scheduled, no other changes will be allowed unless the change request is revoked. Vendors will need to provide a mapping of the items that will require a scheduled change by configuring the scheduled_conversions configuration parameter for each of the items.

  • Scheduling changes from trial to paid plans is supported and such changes will take place on the renewal date.

  • All the resellers will be required to provide their Dropbox reseller IDs in the Tier configuration.

  • Providers are now required to provide the contract owner reseller ID in the contract_owner configuration parameter in the Connect Distributor portal. Refer to the Distributor Portal Configuration guide for additional information.

Enhancements

Fixed Issues

Not applicable to this release.

Known Limitations

  • When upgrading or downgrading to a different Dropbox plan, in CBC the number of licenses will be reset to the default value, unless the user who performs the upgrade or downgrade specifies the number of licenses that were ordered before such upgrade or downgrade.

  • CBC does not provide full capabilities to support the automatic conversion of Dropbox trial plans to a paid version, so the customer will need to place and upgrade the order to the paid Plan, which will be kept in pending status and will not be provisioned until the end date of the trials plan.

  • The log-in action button functionality is not supported in the direct sales model.
