Google Cloud Connect 7.0 Release Notes
Introduction
This document describes the new features, enhancements of Google Cloud CONNECT 7.0, as well as Calls to Action for Partners.
New Features
Google Cloud CONNECT 7.0 introduces the following new features:
-
The connector now supports custom inquiring templates, which will allow distributors to use templates in different languages or with customized messaging. If a custom template is not configured, the default inquiring template will be used instead.
-
In order to get accurate usage and billing information from Google for any region, the connector will perform a currency conversion based on the exchange rate specified in the
currency_exchange_rates
parameter only if the cost returned from Google and the Marketplace have a different currency. If the cost returned from Google and the Marketplace have the same currency, no currency conversion will take place and thecurrency_exchange_rates
parameter will not be used. -
The connector now allows Distributors to specify the billing account ID where the customer's sub-billing accounts will be created to ensure that billing and invoicing is generated correctly.
Enhancements
-
In order to speed up the order provisioning process, Tier Configuration Requests (TCR) are now automatically approved once the reseller has been verified through the Channel Partner Link.
Call to Action for Partners
-
Distributors must configure the billing account ID in the
payer_billing_account_id
parameter in the Distributor Portal before placing any new orders after this release. If this parameter is not configured, the order will remain in Pending status until the value is provided. For further details on how to configure this parameter, refer to the Distributor Portal Configuration Guide. -
Validate that the Exchange Rates parameters reflect correct values so that Connect can perform a correct usage and cost collection from Google.
