Enabling SSL on Apache Webspace with Shared IP Address

If you have a Shared IP address, there are two options:

  • You can use a "shared" SSL Certificate provided by the SSL Proxy configured by your CloudBlue Commerce provider for the whole web server.
  • You can use private SSL Certificate either self-signed or obtained from Certification Authority. This option is available only if your provider has Server Name Indication enabled.

To enable SSL proxy on the Webspace:

  1. Go to Websites, click the name of the desired domain. At the opened page click More Tools and then select SSL.
  2. Go to the SSL tab and check the SSL status option.
  3. Click on the Enable SSL button.

When the SSL status turns to Enabled (Shared), SSL connection to the website becomes available.

Important: If your website is intended to be accessed through SSL Proxy, you should use the relative URLs to refer from one website page to another website page, image, or file.

To use private SSL Certificate:

  1. Obtain an SSL Certificate from a Certification Authority or register a self-signed Certificate as described in the Configuring SSL Connection to Websites section
  2. Upload the Certificate to webspace following instructions provided in the Uploading SSL Certificate section.

If you do not see the SSL tab, this means that using SSL is disabled in your subscription.

For details on disabling SSL, refer to Disabling SSL on Webspace.
