Renewing Subscriptions

After subscription period is over, the subscription expires and is put on hold or destroyed. Customers might want to continue using the subscription. To avoid unpleasant interruption of provided services, it is better to configure subscriptions for automatic renewal (see the Configuring Subscription Auto Renewal subsection earlier in this chapter).

Manual Renewal

It is possible to renew subscriptions manually. This feature is disabled by default on new installations, because manual renewal is not supported by all vendors, for example, Microsoft and Adobe. If the majority of your customers purchase products from such vendors, it can be useful to keep manual subscription renewal forbidden for anyone except the provider's and operating unit's users. In this case, the Renew button will not be displayed to customers and resellers in the UX1 and classic panels, as well as to provider's and operating unit's user impersonating customers.

To enable or disable manual renewal on your CloudBlue installation, add or remove the FEA_EnableManualSubscriptionRenew feature to the components.bss.feature section in the config.yaml file. Refer to this section for the instructions on how to enable or disable BSS features.
