Managing Price Books
With price books, you can configure how final prices for your customers will be calculated for specific groups of products and assign that configuration to specific accounts.
Before you configure a price book, you need to enable the Smart Price Book feature and create a pricing group.
Creating price books
To create a price book, complete the following steps:
-
In UX1, go to Portfolio > Prices and switch to the Price books tab.
-
Click Add price book.
-
Fill in the name, for example, 'Regular for US Marketplace', and description. then click Add.
-
Choose the price book type:
-
Marketplace wide. Prices defined by such a price book are effective for all accounts in of the selected marketplaces.
-
Custom. This price book type allows you to link it to a specific customer segment within a marketplace.
Note: Only one segment can be assigned to a custom price book and it cannot be unassigned later.
-
-
In the Pricing rules section, click Add.
-
Select a pricing group from the list and define the price calculation formulas, for example:
-
Wholesale Price. Set the margin that your resellers will pay, for example, to add 10% to the vendor price, choose Cost + % and set its value to 10.
-
Retail price. Define the end-customer price, for example, set it to MSRP.
Add a pricing rule for each product group that you want to include in this price book.
-
-
In the Assigned to section, add the operating units and marketplaces to which you wish to assign this price book.
-
If you have created a custom price book, it must be additionally assigned to a segment.
Recalculating prices
When the system obtains the updated vendor prices: automatically, from CloudBlue Connect or through the manual price list upload, the price books, where the vendor prices changed become marked with a circular arrow icon, meaning that price recalculation is required for that price book.
To recalculate the prices in a price book, complete the following steps:
-
Open the price book.
-
Click Recalculate prices.
If you do not want the recalculated prices to be applied immediately, set the effective date for the updated prices.
-
Once the recalculation is completed, the sales prices in all plans associated with this price book become updated based on the changed vendor price and the respective pricing formulas.
