DNS Hosting

Preparing the Source System
  1. Update your installation of Odin Business Automation Standard to the latest version, as described in Provider's Guide > Updating Odin Business Automation Standard.
  2. If you are using SSH-managed slave name servers in OBAS, make sure that DNSSEC is switched off in the configuration files of these name servers. Otherwise, DNS forwarding will not work after migration.
Preparing Odin Automation

Before migration, do the following:

  1. Add either a DNS server on the management node or a dedicated DNS node, as described in Linux Platform Deployment Guide > Deploying Linux-based DNS Servers.
  2. Configure DNS hosting service templates in Odin Automation. Make sure that there is at least one DNS hosting service template that includes the DNS Hosting resource. Learn how to do it in Odin Automation Provider's Guide > Creating a Service Template for DNS Hosting.
  3. Configure service plans in Billing for all the top-level domains used by the domains that you want to migrate. Learn how to do it in Billing Provider's Guide > Managing Service Plans > Adding a Service Plan > New Domain Registration Service Plan.
  4. Go to Provider Panel > Billing > System > Settings > NS Settings > Edit, select the DNS service template that you created or configured in step 2, and click Save. This service template defines the name servers on which domains will be hosted.
