Notes on uploading the Excel file

The following rules are applied when uploading the Excel file:

  • When displaying products or uploading a price list, Product Inventory ignores trial subscription periods.

  • Product Inventory does not create a resource rate period. It only works with existing ones.

  • If different prices need to be applied to subscription periods, each subscription period must have a resource rate period.

  • If the same prices must be applied to subscription periods, resource rate periods can be absent, or they can exist only for certain subscription periods. The price will be applied to the existing resource rate and existing resource rate periods.

  • If a plan contains only one subscription period, a resource rate period is optional.

  • The Subscription Period parameter is optional in the imported price list. The file may have an empty value for this column or not have this column at all. If so, Product Inventory applies the same price for all resource rates and resource rate periods that match other criteria from the price list row (MPN, vendor ID, billing period, and billing model).

  • The Billing Model parameter is optional in the imported price list. The file may have an empty value for this column or not have this column at all. If so, Product Inventory applies the same price for all resource rates and resource rate periods that match other criteria from the price list row (MPN, vendor ID, billing period, and subscription period).

  • When updating prices, Product Inventory works with both resource rate periods and a resource rate. Product Inventory takes a price for the resource rate from a resource rate period with the longest subscription period. A price in the resource rate is updated only together with such a resource rate period. - Ira suggested the updated text to the previous one
