Configuring VPS Hosting Service Template
The sample VPS Hosting service template, that was created during the Cloud Infrastructure module installation, includes all the resources required to start selling virtual servers. It is based on the sample virtual server template. However, you may create a new service template based on your own virtual server template, backup schedules, locations, and Plesk configurations.
To create a new VPS Hosting service template:
- In Operations control panel, go to Products > Service Templates and click Add New Service Template.
- Specify a descriptive name for the new service template and click Next.
- Follow the steps of the Service Template Creation Wizard:
Virtual Server Template. Select the virtual server template to be used in this service template and specify the base hardware configuration for the virtual servers that will be created using this server template.
In the Server Size section, you can define the vCore power in the Core Power parameter. There are two options:
- Unlimited – the vCore power is equal to the hardware node's actual CPU core power.
- vCore power can be assigned any absolute value in MHz less or equal to the hardware node's actual CPU core power.
When ready, click Next.
- Network and Locations. Specify the incoming and outgoing monthly traffic limits. Specify the number of public IP addresses for virtual servers. Select location, defining on what virtualization node virtual servers will be provisioned. Location selection is optional. When ready, click Next.
- Plesk. Select Plesk configuration(s) if you are going to sell VPSs with Plesk. This step is optional. When ready, click Next.
- Backup Schedules. Select the amount of backup storage and the backup schedule(s). The backup storage and schedules are optional resources, therefore if you don't need them in your service template mark the Without backup resources option. When ready, click Next.
Access Policy. Select the UI policy, defining the scope of actions allowed to customers to perform on their virtual servers. Click Finish.
Note: Currently, UI policy is supported only in the CCP v1.
The newly created VPS Hosting service template is activated by default.
Important: When you create a VPS Hosting subscription and select Windows OS for a VPS, make sure that the Hostname contains no more than 15 characters, otherwise the subscription will fail.
