Rating Engine Limitations

For limitations related to the PR, CR, and TR rating models, please see Creating Service Plans for PAYG Services.

Currently, Rating Engine has the following limitations:

1. Unregistered users cannot purchase through End-Customer Marketplace those service plans that use Rating Engine.
2. The following scenarios are not supported:
   1. Setting the refund policy during the subscription cancellation: If a provider or a reseller redefines the service plan refund policy during the subscription cancellation, Rating Engine ignores it and makes calculations using the refund policy configured for the service plan subscription period.
   2. Subscription restoration.
   3. The 'Test tax calculation' tool: When assessing the amount of taxes using the Test tax calculation tool, test calculations for service plans with volume pricing are made using the Tiered Pricing model.
3. The following extensions and modules are not supported:
   • The Approval Workflow Engine (AWE) microservice.
4. Rating Engine uses only the default billing period calculation algorithm and ignores customizations.
5. The following service plan and resource settings are not supported or have limitations:
   1. Tiered Pricing is not supported: Do not configure tiered pricing for service plans.
   2. Charge per unit: Rating Engine ignores the Charge per unit = No configuration and always considers Charge per unit = Yes for all service plan resources.
   3. Charge for Upgrade: The option must be set to No.
   4. Switch Plan Fee: Non-zero values are not supported. The value must be set to 0.
   5. Fin Charge, %: The value must be set to 0.
   6. The Periods Calculation Algorithm: Rating Engine uses only the default billing period calculation algorithm and ignores customizations.
   7. The Charge After Billing Period billing model: Please use the other billing models.
   8. Non-Refundable Amount: The value must be set to 0 for all service plans.

6. Limitations on promotions:

   • The Promotion By Parent Plans promotion type is not supported: Please use other promotion types for service plans.
   • Applicability Condition for promotions: Rating Engine ignores the Applicability Condition field settings. If you create a promotion that applies on a condition, the promotion will be applied without limitations imposed by the condition.
7. Subscription period duration configured in days is not supported. It must be configured in months or years.

8. Multi-language fields are not supported: All details are generated in English only.

9. Service plans based on Dummy Gate service templates are not supported.
10. The following deprecated order types are not supported: UG, DG, CL, and BN.
11. Rating Engine does not assign any SKU to refunds, deposit fees, tiers in volume and tier pricing models, or promotions. In these cases, SKU will be left empty.
