What's New in CloudBlue Commerce in June 2022

Key Changes

Multi-Currency

The first multi-currency scenario, margin protection, becomes available in CloudBlue Commerce. It allows providers to set prices in different currencies and convert them to customer payment currency on order placement. This helps providers and resellers mitigate profit losses caused by exchange rate fluctuations. The key changes in the platform brought by this feature are:

  • The ability to add a new sales currency and select it for price management in new service plans.

  • The ability to manage products, including prices, in UX1.

  • Exchange rate configuration to support conversion from sales to customer payment currencies.

  • Order and invoice details were updated to include charges in both currencies and their exchange rate if necessary.

  • The ability to view the prices in the sales currency when purchasing and managing a subscription in UX1.

  • Reporting and Data Export now includes data about the sales currency.

This change requires multiple components to be installed or upgraded to the specified version or higher. These components are:

These components are optional for multi-currency, but if they are a part of your installation, they must be updated to the specified version in order to support this feature:

To enable multi-currency in the system, the FEA_MARGIN_PROTECTION feature must be enabled. Refer to the Enabling or Disabling Special Functionality in the BSS Database Features Table section for the instructions.

New Experience

CloudBlue Commerce is moving in line with the latest trends towards a clean and minimalist appearance, following the “less is more” principle. New Experience gives CloudBlue Commerce users negative space in the UX1 panel and helps them to focus on the content.

Learn more about the feature and how to enable it in the How to Enable New Experience in UX1 section.

Extended Capabilities of Downsize Policy

CloudBlue Commerce now supports an NCE-specific downsize policy for cases when resource downsizing happens during a defined period after upsizing. With the help of Product Lifecycle Management, it is now possible to specify a new downsize policy. With this new policy, when the initial period of allowed downsizing after the purchase or renewal is passed, CloudBlue Commerce will prohibit resource downsizing, except for a defined period after upsizing. This period is defined by the vendor.
